Disclosure for pet sitting services: Services will be performed in accordance with the instructions agreed upon in written contract. The Client waives any claims against Persnickety-Pets Pet Sitting Service unless Persnickety-Pets Pet Sitting Service is negligent and does not perform as agreed per written contract.
All dogs must be currently licensed and up-to-date on their rabies shot. The only exceptions are puppies still undergoing their puppy shot routine. Proof of license and vaccination must be presented at time of meet-n-greet. Cats should be vaccinated but it is not a requirement.
Very Important: If your pet is not confined to the interior of the house during the duration of the pet sitting assignment, and is allowed to roam free (either in a fenced yard with doggie door, as in the case of dogs, or unrestrained, as in the case of cats), Persnickety-Pets cannot be held liable for any injury that the pet may sustain at this time. Cats and dogs with pet doors, as well as access to screen rooms, are at high risk of escaping the confinements of their home. We will not be responsible for injury, death, or loss of pet if the pet should escape from any of these accesses.
Full payment is expected prior to start of pet sitting services. Payment can be made by personal check, Visa, Mastercard, Discover, or American Express. There is a $25 service fee for all returned checks. If you would like to pay online, using any major credit card, debit card, electronic check, or paypal account (if you have one), please send me an email, or notify me at the meet-n-greet and I will send an online invoice for your prepay convenience. Cash is accepted and client will receive a 10% if they notify me prior to confirmation being sent.
PLEASE NOTE: If prepayment is not made prior to start of any pet sitting assignment, a 10% surcharge of the trip's total amount will be added to the invoice. The only exception being if the trip is unexpectedly delayed and more visits are added, or if paying by credit card (credit card information must be on file). *** If you have an unpaid balance, additional pet services will not be scheduled until payment is paid in full ***
If client returns earlier than designated, and does not inform the sitter in a timely manner, a $7 trip charge will be incurred by client. Please call if you are returning early and you can receive a credit for the day.
Keys are to be presented at the time of Meet-N-Greet Session (preliminary meeting). If a return trip is to be made to pick up keys that were not presented at time of Meet-N-Greet, a $10 trip charge will be added to services. If keys are to be returned at the end of the pet sitting assignment, a $10 trip charge will apply (unless keys can be returned via snail mail - a $5 shipping charge will apply. If keys are to be kept in our key safe, no additional charge will apply.
OTHER PEOPLE AT YOUR HOUSE:
If other parties have access to pet owner's home at the same time as per sitting service (family members, friends, cleaning service, etc.) Persnickety-Pets Pet Sitting Service shall not be held liable for damage that could result from another parties' negligence.
If there is more than one pet at client's home, and an injury occurs to one pet as a result of interaction with the other, Persnickety-Pets cannot be held liable for injury unless client states prior to sitting service that pets cannot be contained together and must be kept separate. It is the responsibility of the client to know when your pets are not compatible. All aggression issues must be disclosed to sitter at time of Meet-N-Greet and noted in contract.
EMERGENCY VET SERVICES:
In the event of an emergency, all veterinarian services will be paid by the Client. Extra time expended by a Persnickety-Pet Pet sitter during an emergency will be compensated by Client at reasonable pet sitting charges. If your vet is not in our service area, we will take your pets to Noah's Animal Services which is also an emergency clinic. We will call you first before seeking veterinarian services. You will need to call Noah's and supply them with your consent for us to take your pets there, and confirm your credit card for payment.
PET POTTY ACCIDENTS/DESTRUCTION:
Persnickety-Pets will not be held liable for any destruction or soiling of rugs, furniture, household goods, or any other owner-items, unless specifically instructed that pets are not to be allowed in areas where such destruction may occur (this requires unescapable crating). Owner is responsible for knowing whether or not their pets are destructive or not housebroken.
If this service is selected, Persnickety-Pets cannot be held liable for any injury or death that may occur as a result of this service. A separate disclaimer is required to be signed by pet owner when using this service.
PET SITTING HOURS:
Pet sitting hours are from 7:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., 7 days a week. For the safety of our pet sitters, our last pet sitting visit will be no later than 7:30 p.m., ending at 8:00. Our office hours are from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. If you call before or after those hours please leave a message and we will get back to you as soon as possible on the next business day.
Holidays will incur an additional $10.00 per day. Holidays include: New Year's Eve (day and night), New Year's Day, Good Friday, Easter, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve (day and night), and Christmas Day.
Client must sign a Hurricane Evacuation disclosure form prior to pet-sitting service, during the months of June - November. This form states whether or not client would prefer their pet to remain at home during an evacuation, or if client will be boarding their pets at a specified boarding establishment. These boarding arrangements must be made with the kennel of your choice in advance of your travel plans. Your name and credit card must be on file with the boarding kennel. We will be pleased to transport your pets to these boarding facilities if there are proper pet carriers at your home. Please note: in the event of a large storm approaching, boarding facilities may not accept your pets. In this event we will leave the pets at their home, secure them in an area without windows (bathroom, etc), and check on them after the storm has passed. This check-up visit will be done at no charge, as we will be ensuring your pet(s) are safe, and release them from their carriers. As soon as we are able we will contact you and let you know the status of your pet(s). Hurricane season is June through November.
TOLL AREAS/METERED PARKING:
If client resides in an area where toll charges are applicable, the toll charges will be added to the pet sitting fee for each visit. If you are in a downtown parking area with individual parking spaces and only metered spaces are available, $1 will be added to each visit to accommodate the meter expense.
Due to the recent upsurge in fuel prices, our current service areas include North St. Petersburg (including Old Northeast, Shore Acres, Snell Isle, Venetian Isles, apartment complexes on 4th St N and 9th St N (MLK Blvd), and other areas in North St. Petersburg). Unfortunately this does not include downtown areas, or areas south of Central Avenue. We will also provide pet sitting services to all of Pinellas Park, Kenneth City, Pasadena, and Gulfport. If you are a current client residing in areas outside of our updated boundary and wish for us to continue visiting your pet, a $5 fuel charge will be added to each visit.
PET SITTING RESERVATIONS:
Pet sitting bookings require a 48-hour notice. All "emergency" bookings (bookings without a 48-hour notice) will incur a $10.00 surcharge applied to the first visit of the booking. If you are a current client, all requests must be e-mailed to: email@example.com. Once received I will enter the dates on the calendar and snd a confirmation notice (via your e-mail). If I do not receive an e-mail request, I will be unable to send an e-mail confirmation!
All NEW clients must be scheduled for a pre-meeting called a meet-n-greet session. Without a Meet-n-Greet session, the new client will not be approved for pet sitting. We require a 7-day notice for ALL meet-n-greet sessions. WE DO NOT SCHEDULE MEET-N-GREET SESSIONS DURING THE WEEK OF ANY HOLIDAY. Please schedule your meeting early. Our busiest seasons are: Any national holiday, Valentine's Day week, St. Patty's Day week, Easter Week, Mother's Day Week, Father's Day week, Spring Break week, early summer vacation and Halloween Week. If you are calling during these weeks, return calls may be delayed due to the heavy pet sitting schedule, and we may not be able to schedule a meet-n-greet during those times.

A copy of this Our Policy form will be presented and discussed at all meet-n-greet sessions. A signed form will be kept in client's file. Please read carefully.
