Snippy and Sweet Licks, Adorable Doxies from St. Petersburg:
Tuesday, 6/21/05:  I went to see Sweet Licks and Snippy this evening and they were as feisty as ever. They both met me at the door and were beside themselves with excitement because they knew they were going on THE WALK!  Of course, right out the door, Mr. Huffenstuft immediately ruffled and ridged as he saw a person walking down the street, and continued puffing all around the church.  Of course, Ms Sashay just pranced down the sidewalk giving her brother exasperated looks, at times.  They both had good BM's and peed.  I like the new furniture.  I liked your old stuff too, though.  It was so poofy - LOL!  In fact, I'm going to buy the same set (only a corner group) for my family room.  I also have leather couches in the living room but they're the real soft leather and Chance (my older Aussie) cannot STAY OFF!  He has claimed them for his personal loungers and beds - LOL!!  I shut the blinds, turned on the hall, stove, and porch lites and gave everyone some cookies - yummers in my tummers!!  I locked up, checked the perimeter - all was well.  p.s.  I have enlarged the screen to fit my laptop and wonder if it is too big for other screens - can you read this okay?

Wednesday, 6/22/05:  Everything was fine on the home front this morning. Sweet Licks and Snippy have become "my guys".  As soon as I walk in the house, I start asking how my guys are doing and they start prancing, yipping, and climbing up my leg.  Of course, I know that is secret talk for "take me for a walk" but it's still cute.  We went for a nice walk and both peed and pooed.  Snippy tried to eat two bicyclists, and three joggers but otherwise it was pretty uneventful - LOL!  I opened the blinds, turned off the lights and told everyone goodbye.  Lots of treats all the way around.

When I got there this evening, everyone was excited to get walking.  It was a wonderful walk around the church and the breeze was blowing so nicely.  We didn't want to come back home!!!  Snippy had a BM but Sweet Licks didn't.  On the way back down your road, a small kid started running towards the dogs.  The parents just stood there and didn't do anything, didn't call him back or anything!!  I pulled the dogs back so they couldn't reach the kid and asked the father if he knew these dogs.  He said no, but knew of them.  He said the black one was mean.  My question is:  If he thought the black one (Sweet Licks) was mean, then why in the heck was he letting his child run up to pet it??????  Some people are just dumber than stumps!!  Finally he called the kid back.  Phew, I do believe he was standing in the closet when the brain train went by!  LOL!!  Although I believe that Sweet Licks is as sweet as she can be, I never take the chance around other people, dogs can be so unpredictable, I always tell everyone to stand back and not approach the dogs.  When we got back in the house, I gave the guys extra treats and turned the lights on and shut the blinds.  I checked the perimeter - all was well!!
Thursday, 6/23/05:  Another fine day in the neighborhood.  Sweet Licks and Snippy thoroughly enjoyed their walk.  As we were rounding the corner to the church, two people on bikes passed us by.  Snippy was ruffling and ridging, growling and barking.  He was saying "let me at 'em, I haven't had lunch yet", and the two bikers were saying "Awwwww, how cute they are".  We got a good laugh out of it.  Snippy thinks he's a Rottweiler, we just think he's adorable!!!  We've nicknamed him the "Tiny Terrorist"  LOL!!  I opened the blinds and turned all the lights off. I  told everyone goodbye.  Lots of treats all around.

Everyone was excited to see me - their walking buddy.  I checked around, so far there haven't been any boo-boos.  I brought the mail in and took everyone for a walk.  It was cloudy, rainy and blustery - our favorite kind of walking weather!!  After we got back I played with them on the floor for a while and helped them eat their treats - LOL!!  They still aren't too sure about getting up on the furniture.  You may have found a sure-fire way to keep them off the couches - LOL!!  I told everyone goodbye, closed the blinds, turned on a few light and gave treats all around.  Everyone was snug as a bug in a rug!!  I checked the perimeter - all was well.
Friday, 6/24/05:  It was another wonderful day in the neighborhood.  Everybody was full of P&V this morning.  We fairly pranced around the church grounds, especially Ms Sassy Pants.  She cracks me up so much when she is prancing out there in the front and suddenly realizes that her brother is hot on the trail of something interesting so she has to bop back and find out what she's missing.  Of course, Snippy is on his own agenda!!  LOL!!  When we got back I opened the blinds, turned all the lights off and swept up a little (they may be short-haired doxies, but they're still stick-magnets!!  lol!!  I gave everyone treats and made sure their water and food bowls were full.  It seems they are hanging out on the blankets on the floor.  I have yet to see one of them on the furniture!!  I checked the perimeter - all was well.

It was starting to rain when I got there this evening (of course it was!!), We had a nice walk and then hung out in the back yard for a while.  I have noticed that Snippy doesn't have his ball anymore (did we retire the ball?).  He seems much more "with it" since he's not chasing a ball all over the place - LOL!  I wonder if he misses it. I haven't seen him chase anything around.  I closed the blinds, checked all the doors and turned on a couple lights.  I brought in the mail (and paper), You may have stopped the paper, but the delivery people must not have gotten the memo - LOL!!  I checked the perimeter - all was well.  I told the guys goodnight!!
Saturday, 6/25/05:  I found the ball again!!  He must have hidden it in the blankets on the floor.  It doesn't look like the same one though, this one is too hard to fit in his mouth - LOL!!!   We had a wonderfully warm walk and checked out all the smells and people of the neighborhood.  Snippy only tried to eat a couple of joggers and Sweet Licks did her best to keep the big guy in line!!  They ran out of treats so I opened a package for twisty-dooley things.  They love 'em.  I have also been giving them some cookie biscuits too.  The little munchkins!!  I turned off the lights and opened the blinds.  I checked around the perimeter, told everyone goodbye and locked up.  All was well.

It was still terribly warm and muggy for our PM walk.  It looks like it may rain, but I think it's only threatening!!  After the walk I put them in the backyard for a few minutes to see if Ms Sassy Pants would go, since she didn't go on the walk.  I didn't notice but Snippy ate a whole lot of grass and then threw up for a while.  I guess he got whatever it was in his system out because he looks fine now and was first in line for treats!!  Yummers!  He also drank a lot of water, but I can't say I blame him there, it's pretty stuffy outside.  I closed the blinds, turned on a few lights and checked the perimeter - all was well.  I said good bye to the guys and locked up.

Sunday, 6/26/05:  Well, they're still delivering your paper.  You got the Sunday edition too.  Snippy and Sweet Licks were rar'n to go this morning.  I bet they really had to pee-pee!!  We had a nice (and a little cooler) walk, and then when we got back I sat on the couch with them and cuddled.  Snippy can actually jump up on the couch, but Sweet Licks doesn't want to try so I helped her up.  Of course, we had to have lots of belly rubs and Snippy insisted on a french kiss or two!!  LOL!!  We had a very enjoyable morning.  I turned off the lights, opened the blinds and checked the perimeter - all was well.  I told everyone goodbye and locked up.

ANOTHER weird thing happened this evening (weird things happen in your neighborhood quite often - LOL).  After our walk I took the guys into the backyard so we could enjoy the evening.  It wasn't quite dark yet but there was a terrible commotion going on in your yard.  At first it looked like a blackbird convention and then I realized that a baby bird was hopping around in the yard and all the adults were trying to help it back to the nest.  I was afraid the kids would try to eat the bird so I ran out to pick it up and put it over the fence.  As I was headed out, one of the adult birds dive-bombed me.  I felt his feet as he swooped over my head.  But I wasn't deterred.  After several more swoops by several more birds, I finally made it to the baby and picked it up.  I gently placed it over the chain link fence and all the birds went over there to be with him.  Phew!!!  I was almost blackbird pie!!  LOL!!  I brought everyone back in and locked up.  I closed the blinds, turned on a few lights and told everyone goodbye.  I checked the perimeter - all was well.
