ATHENA AND STELLA - The Poodle Duo from Gulfport
Sunday, November 6,2005 - Mid:The girls met me at the door and were excited to see their "Auntie Kathy". I let them out in the back yard and watched as they kicked up the dust and chased squirrels. Athena and I had a rousing game of ball. She is so quick, and can almost catch the ball on the run!! She's not all that excited when Stella tries to join in, but they had a great time. I checked the mail and unloaded some of my stuff for tonight. I told the girls I was coming back to see them and they were all excited!! LOL!
B&B: When I got here tonight the girls helped me bring in all my stuff! Actually they supervised and I did all the work!! We went outside and played in the backyard for a while but they were barking at each other so I was afraid they might wake up all the neighbors. After my shower, we all sat on the couch, me on the end, Stella at my feet and Athena at the other end of the couch. I checked the computer again and it came on for a short time but was gone again. I actually think I was picking up someone elses's signal in the neighborhood because it was acting the same as it does when I am at McDonald's or one of the internet cafes. It's just so weird that I can't access the Apple wireless modem. The girls decided that they wanted to sleep with me tonight. Stella slept next to me and Athena at my feet - they actually stayed there all night.

Monday, November 7, 2005 - Mid:Since my first assignment was at 9:30 this AM, I decided to hang out with the girls until I had to leave for my first pet sitting. We had a nice leisurely breakfast and drank a nice mug od hot steaming coffee out on the porch while the girls chased each other around the yard, quicking up huge sandstorms!! I knew the cleaning service was coming, so I cleaned everything up and tried to move my stuff outta the way. I will come back very late this afternoon, around 4:00 p.m., so that the girls won't have to wait so long inbetween their afternoon visit and the B&B. We had a wonderful morning, so nice and restful!! I got back at around 4:10 and spent a great time with the girls. I was glad that I was able to come back a little later. The cleaning lady had been there and everything look nice and clean. Just in time for the girls to drag in some more twigs!! LOL!!
B&B: The girls were excited again to see me. They KNEW I was there to spend the night. I could tell, because as soon as they see my bag in my hand they start running around grabbing toys and trying to get me to play with them. Of course I had to play tug-o-war with Athena for about on hour, first with the soft squeaky toy and then with the little plastic squeaky toy. I was glad to do it because that meant she was happy and not at all stressed about her mama being gone (at least not while she was playing). She was having a grand time and Stella kept trying to butt in, but the best she could do was sit in front of me and give me her foot. I had to give her lots of petting inbetween tosses to Athena. They are very lovable poodles and like lots of attention. They are also laid back when everyone cuddles up tp watch TV for a while. They lie right outside the bathroom when I'm taking a shower and have to actually come in the bathroom with me when I have to go potty. I guess I need an audience!! LOL!! Of course, I'm used to it because my "boys" like to supervise my bathroom activities - LOL!! We all slept on the bed again and have established out sleeping spots. Stella likes to lay her head across my arm and Athena likes to lay her head on my feet. We had a great night!
Tuesday, November 8,2005 - Mid: It was another great morning. We had a very restful night and had a great breakfast and coffee and leisure time on the porch. The girls spent a lot of time in the yard watching for squirrels. I will be coming back again later this afternoon, the same as I did yesterday and that way the girls won't have so much time between visits.
I got back around 2:00 and stayed until around 3:00 - we watched TV and played ball in the back yard. That ball is getting a lot of exercise lately. Athena is so quick and agile!! And competive!! She definitely doesn't give Stella a chance of getting the ball!! We had a great time and everyone was in good spirits when I left.
B&B: The girls are getting more and more comfortable with me. They are really excited to see me come in, especially when they know I am staying. They have been eating real well but mostly save it for the nighttime. I think they like to eat when they know that they're not going to be alone. We've been staying up nice and late and even had a great salsa and chip snack! Of course, the girls had their bacon treats, but they live vicariously through me - LOL!! We had a great night and the bed is really starting to feel wonderful. I just had to rearrange my hips a bit and now I sleep like a log - well, so do the girls. But they do wake me up eveyr morning at 6:45 - it must be their normal waking time, It's fine with me because I can get up and have a nice few hours with the girls before my first assignment. It has been wonderful!! This morning we all got up and watched a Golden Girls revival - LOL!! I never get to watch TV so this was super!!! Had two pots of yummy coffee and a great breakfast. I told the girls I would see them in a little while, loaded up the car and told everyone goodbye! I put the garbage out but I'm not sure if today is garbage day - I did see a truck going down the road and although Athena looked a little anxious, she never got up off the chair and didn't freak out in the bathroom. I think she likes that I'm there with her! I'll see them again in a little while.
