RUGBEE & COMPANY OF SHORE ACRES
www.persnickety-pets.com
Saturday, August 11, 2007: Mid: Rugbee was excited to see me this afternoon. We went right outside so that he could do his business. In fact, he wandered all around the yard, I'm sure if he was getting exercise, or was lost - lol! I had to steer him back towards the screen door of the patio because he planted himself in front of the wooden gate and 'forgot' to go. Once inside he had a good drink of water and ate some lunch. I scooped the backyard and the litter box, the kitties were all doing fine. No problems.
PM: Rugbee was sound asleep when I got there this evening. I had to nudge him to wake him up and then he was his old self. He bounces around the room and then bounces out the door to go potty. I'm always surprised to see that he has so much spunk for an old dude. How old is Rugbee, anyway? He had a good dinner and I checked on the kitties food and water, swept up the garage. Rugbee didn't have any accidents. I left him with cookies and he seemed happy. I closed all the blinds and turned on the porch light. All doors locked - all was well. There was a HUGE storm brewing - lots of lightning and thunder - I hope Rugbee won't be scared
Sunday August 12, 2007: AM: Rugbee actually heard me this morning when I drove up, sometimes I think he doesn't hear very well and then other times he seems to hear very well, hmmmmmm selective hearing? He went outside and went potty and wandered around the yard again. This time he didn't seem to get lost - lol. He came in and ate a little and drank some water. I sat down with him (he was all curled up in his little bed), and read to him. He was very happy for the company. The kitties are doing great - litter all scooped and swept. Rugbee didn't want to go back in his crate but he didn't seem to mind much - I think my story-telling made him sleepy. All else was well.
I did want to tell you about this wreck that I saw when I was leaving your place last night. A little ways down the street (as you head for 62nd Ave), there are some really curvy roads (even have curve signs). Anyway it was raining pretty hard and I guess a pick-up truck didn't quite make it around the curve! As I came around the first curve I saw him SUSPENDED IN THE AIR!! It looked like a pick-up truck flying and then frozen in place. No lie - it was awesome. What happened was that he missed the curve, sheared off a power pole (sparks were everywhere), and the top part of the pole fell off, but the truck got stuck on top of the lower part of the pole about 5 feet in the air (kinda like a truck on a stick - LOL). I'm not sure if anyone got hurt because about that time the fire truck showed up (it was only about 1/2 block from the fire station), and made everyone leave. It was pretty cool though!
Mid: Rugbee was very happy to see me! When I drove up I noticed that there were, what looked like, eggshells all over the driveway. I had seen some baby ducks so I figured they must have hatched out. I didn't pay them much attention. I took Rugbee out, let him do his business and then eat and drink some. The kitties were doing fine.
PM: Tonight when I came back I happened to see more eggshells on the porch and I thought that was really odd, so I went out to where your car is parked and looked at the egg shells out there. That was when I noticed all the dried yolks and gunky stuff. Then I noticed that there was stuff all over the car taillights. I looked closer and sure enough, someone had egged your car, and also the front porch. One of the eggs busted out a small piece of your taillight in the car (there is a hole there where the plastic fell through), I peered inside the hole (into the taillight) and there were pieces of plastic in down there and egg yolk, so I knew then that the hole was caused by an egg. I didn't touch anything but am bringing my camera tomorrow so I can take a picture of it for you. If the car sits out there in the storms for awhile, all the egg stuff may wash off. I'm not sure if you will need the pics for your insurance. It made me uneasy that someone had egged the car and house, so tonight when I left, I shut all the blinds, made sure all the doors were locked and locked the screen doors on the patio. I also left the TV on and a light inside. I left the porch light off, in case they think you are gone. I don't know who did the egging, but there are usually parties across the street whenever we come on the weekend. I even had one guy throw a beer bottle at my car once. Fortunately he was so drunk he missed. I wouldn't say it was them but you never know. Anyway, I wanted to let you know about the car. I will try to call you tomorrow and let you know in case you don't get to online and read about it. Rugbee and the kitties, however, are doing great!
Monday, August 13, 2007: Rugbee was very happy to see me all the times I came over today! He has been spending lots of time outside - I think it warms up his old bones - LOL! e hang out by the pool and have a good ole time. I got some pictures of your car today, I haven't uploaded them yet, but hopefully they will turn out alright. I left the TV going again tonight and a lamp on. It will probably keep Rugbee company if nothing else - LOL!! He is eating a little but not as much as he used to. I am going to bring him some cookies tomorrow, he loves them!! I had a huge storm go by my house just about an hour ago, so it may have stormed at your place also (although I live close to Largo), but it looked like it was picking up speed from your area. We certainly don't have to worry about a rain shortage now. I did water your potted plant on the porch and the one on the patio - they were starting to droop. The kitties litter is all scooped and area swept. Food and waters refilled, blinds down, and lights on. All is well.
Tuesday, August 14, 2007: Well, BIG storms went through here again today, only this time they were afternoon thunder boomers. I believe there may be a tropical storm sitting out there in the Gulf. but supposedly it's supposed to move more towards Texas!! Poor Texas, but yay us!! However, we are getting stuff from it - hopefully it will cool things off - my car thermometer said 100 degrees yesterday - I took a picture to prove it - LOL!! Rugbee is doing great. He had a pee-pee accident in his crate but I cleaned it all out and gave him a little bath - he smells great now - LOL! He loves chasing around after the geckos in the morning, but in the midday he would just as soon stay inside where it is cool, however, I make him go out and do his biz and then he can come inside and have a cookie! The kitties are all doing well, no problems at all. Litter all scooped and swept, yard scooped. I have been leaving the TV on at night, to make it look like someone is home. All else - A-OK.
Wednesday, August 15, 2007: I finally managed to get my pictures that I took of your car uploaded this evening. I am going to include a few here so that you can look at them. The rainstorms have washed most of the egg away, but I got some of these right after the car was egged. I will include them at the bottom. Rugbee is doing great - no problems. He was beginning to smell a little, so I gave him a good bath today. Now he smells like lilacs in the spring - LOL. The kitties are all doing well. I think Beavis hangs out in the bedroom most of the time and Callie in the garage. Rugbee has started eating more now and of course, he always eats his cookies. I am letting him hang out in his little bed. I may have to wash it before ya'll get home, but for now he hasn't had any accidents. Everything else is A-OK. Here are the pics:
Here you can see the egg drips down the side and also the crack in the taillight where the egg hit.
Close-up of the small hole made by the egg
I tried to take a pic of the inside of the hole so you could see the egg stuff down in there
Egg shells on the concrete under car
Thursday, August 16, 2007: More storms have been boogying around the neighborhood, in fact, quite a few roads in the area were still underwater, and some of the house's driveways were underwater. Your house is doing fine. It looks like the yard man has come because the grass is shorter and a piece of bouganvilla that I broke off (cuz it was poking me in the eye every time I walked around the back yard) was missing. Looks good. Rugbee is doign great - no problems, although he has been crying as soon as I leave. He's usually curled up on his rug when I get back, sound asleep. He is eating well and devouring his cookies - LOL! Kitties are all doing well, no problems. Hope you're having a good trip!
Friday, August 17, 2007: Rugbee is still doing great. No problems. We hang out on the back porch and watch the neighborhood buzz. I think Rugbee may be a little senile - he keeps walking into corners and forgets how to get out, or he will go to the back door and stand there with a dazed look on his face. When I go looking for him, he look sup at me like, HI - who are you? It's hilarious. I tell him,"Rugbee, we gotta wander back yonder to go back inside". Then he follows me. Everything else is goign great. Everyone is eating well, and no messes or wild parties yet (kitties breaking things - LOL). I have noticed that the three candles you have sitting on the table in the living room have been knocked over occasionally and it looks like they are shredding the wax, but other than that - everything is A-OK! I told Rugbee you were coming home tomrrow - he is all excited!!
