SWEET PUD OF LOVELY GULFPORT, FL

Sunday, February 7, 2010 AM - Pud-ley was happy to see me!  He does look very handsome now - he doesn't have that "bed-head" look - LOL!  And he looks slim and trim!  I'm glad his toenail is feeling better!  We had a great time hanging out, with belly rubs and lots of stuff.  We wandered around the yard and surveyed the "north forty" - I see lots of trees got hit my the freezes - hopefully they will come back!  It was a little nippy chippy out, but inside was nice and snuggy!  Pud was hanging out in the warm living room when I got here this AM.  All was well.
PM - It turned out to be a very nice night!  Pud and I had a terrific time watching the glow of the sunset.  He got lots of petting!  He was hanging out across the alley but came sauntering over when I drove up.  He has fresh food and milk and refills on water.  He likes his treats and cookies!  All was well
Monday, February 8, 2010 AM - I couldn't find Pud when I got there this morning and called around for him - all the time he was sitting on a pile of papers on the living room table and staring at me.  He probably thought I was a dumb blonde when I walked by him calling his name - he kinda blended into the shadows of the living room - LOL.  I went and sat with him and gave him lots of petting.  When I stopped he took my hand in his teeth - I guess that means - keep petting woman!  :-)  It was really cold out this morning (41 degrees by my car thermometer), so Pud was all snuggled up in the living and keeping warm - it was nice and toasty inside.  I'm not sure if it's going to be cold tomorrow, but I do believe a BIG cold front is on it's way.  Pud ate his fresh food and milk and cookies.  We hung out and shared a bit of a twinkie - all was well
PM - Pudster was across the alley again when I got here.  He sat and stared at me awhile and then mosied on over.   He didn't want to go in by the bedroom door, so I had to go inside and come around to the kitchen door and let him in through the porch - that was where he was waiting.  Could he come in the kitty door?  Nooooo he had to be let in by the porch door - LOL.  King Pud!!  He knows when he has it good  :-)  But he's such a sweetie!!  I can't wait to hang out overnite with him.  All was well!
Tuesday, February 9, 2010 AM - Pud and I had a lovely breakfast and I told him that I was going to be staying with tonight.  I could see a flicker of excitement in his tail :-)  He got some smooooth belly rubs and a lick or two of twinkie - yummers!
PM - When I got her tonight, Pud was lounging around on the table again.  He got down long enough to eat his dinner and then hung out while I got all my stuff inside.  Once I got settled I checked on the plants and watered all the inside ones.  It's been raining pretty steadily this week (thanks El Nino), so all the outside ones were nice and moist.  I noticed that you have a Carl Hiaason book - I love that guy!  He's serious with a funny twist.  I've read of few of them but the one where the alligator eats everyone was the greatest - LOL!  We had a wonderful time.  Pud went outside just before I settled for night-night, so I told him to be careful - it was still cold out!
Wednesday, February 10, 2010 AM - Pud was spread out on the dining room table when I got up.  I think he brought in half the yard with him too.  I told him that he just had gotten groomed so he didn't need to be scruffling around in dirtholes.  He looked at me with one of those "I will scruffle around where I WANT to, thank you anyway!"  LOL  I got the brush out and brushed some of the dirt off of him.  He loved it!  We had a yummy breakfast.  I didn't have to go anywhere early this morning so I hung out with Pud, watched TV and had my own breakfast. It was a really nice morning and we rested and relaxed.  :-)
PM - I think Pud was sad that I wasn't going to stay tonight.  He was hanging out on the table in front of the window when I came to give him his dinner.  I gave him some belly rubs and then he went wandering around the 'hood.  I told him goodbye and that I would see him later!
Thursday, February 11, 2010 AM - It was really cold this morning and I was hoping that Pud was nice and warm because he didn't come around this morning.  I think he was next door at your neighbor's place.  I gave him some nice breakfast and fresh water.  The paper has been coming regularly but no mail yet.  I suppose you had the mail held - otherwise you must not have any bills - LOL!!  All was well!
PM - Pud was there to greet me this evening.  I guess he missed me!  I gave him a lot of head pats and brushed him out - he's beginning to get the "bead-head" look again - LOL!  He had a nice dinner and a few cheese licks - he really likes the cheese but doesn't seem to care for the first "lump" that comes out when you squeeze the can - he gets that on his tongue and flings it off :-)  It's still nice and chilly but warm and toasty in the house.  I think Pud has decided that it's nicer to stay inside - it keeps his old bones more comfy!  All was well.

Friday, February 12, 2010 AM - Pud was sprawled out on the dining table again - he had pushed all the notes and placemats off on the floor.  At first I thought a critter had gotten loose in the living room (through the critter hole :-), but then realized that it was just the Pudster making himself comfortable as he lounged around on the table.  He had a nice breakfast and I told him that I was staying with him again tonight.  He was excited again!  I have noticed that in the last couple days Pud has been drinking alot of water.  At first I was afraid that some other critter was drinking it but I'm pretty sure that it's been Pud drinking it all.  Even the water cups in the bathroom were empty, so I made sure that I all of them were nice and full.  All was well.
PM - Pud was excited to see me when I started hauling all my stuff in the bedroom. He was walking around checking all the stuff out and trying to curl up in my soft, soft blankie. He was hilarious.  I got all settled in and then had some dinner - fried chicken livers.  I also had a small piece of cheesecake (the only dessert I can eat with my diabetes cuz it has protein - at least that's what I tell myself - LOL).  Anyway, I found another thing that Pud likes - cheesecake.  I gave him a little fingertip full and he yummed it right up!  It didn't have any fruit - it was just plain.  He also ate a small piece of chicken liver, but he liked the cheesecake better - Goofy cat - LOL!  We got all the warm blankies out and after our shower we all cuddled up on the couch and watched TV.  It was such a nice evening - we enjoyed it lots!!
Saturday, February 13, 2010 AM - It was muy cold out this morning but Pud and I hung around this morning and waited until it warmed up some before getting up.  I didn't have any early morning visits this morning so I hung out with Pud again.  I think he really likes that cuz he lounged around on the dining room table for awhile and then on the table in front.  It was a lazy hazy kind of morning and we enjoyed it!  I was looking at some of your souvenirs and realized I had been to a couple of the places too.  Did you ride the ferry over to Victoria?  We did and I had the greatest time.  I have decided that I really like riding on ferrys!  I love the trip I took from upstate New York to Vermont too!  On the ferry to Victoria they had a waffle line - it was so scrumptious!  You get to make a huge Belgian waffle and then go down this line and put any toppings you want on it!  OMG - I wanted to buy a Belgian waffle-maker when I got home - it was the first waffle I ever had!  I also really enjoyed the Columbia River area too!  That has to be my favorite area in all these United States!  I enjoyed looking at all your souvenirs and I like the way you have them displayed in the cubies of your bookcase.  All was well.
PM - Pud had a yummy dinner and I gave him a nice belly rub and brushed him out a little. He was hanging out in what little sunshine we had today.  I told him I would be back to see him soon!  I think your neighbor is back home - I saw a car over there this evening and I hadn't seen one over there before.  I think Pud knows they're home too, cuz he headed over there as I was leaving. All was well.
Sunday, February 14, 2010 AM - HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!  I hope you are having a great trip!  Pud and I are having a wonderful time.  I know he misses you, but he still likes to hang out with his pet sitter!!  :-) My dumb mouse on my computer appears to have a mind of its own. I wish Pud would take care of my little mouse problem - LOL.  I can be typing away and all of a sudden the mouse quits. It's a wireless thingy and I think the wireless thingy has croaked and only works intermittently now.  Guess it's time for another one!  Pud was so cute this morning.  I told him that his folks were coming home soon and I think he actually understood!  He flicked his tail a few times and then flopped down on the floor for a belly rub.  He also decided that he needs to rearrange my shoelaces.  I told him that his mama warned me about him and shoelaces :-)  He had a yummy breakfast and I gave him some nice Valentine's hugs and extra cheese and twinkie frosting - he was a happy dude!
PM - Did you know that when it rains in Gulfport - all the dips in the roads become huge lakes and the intersecting roads become raging rivers - LOL!  Of course you do! :-)  It has been a really, really wet season.  When I come to see Pud after the rains I have to make sure I come in from the 66th St area - if I try to come in through the 58th St area - my little red car does the float-in.  LOL!  Pud and I had a great time.  He is still hanging out next door, so I'm pretty sure your neighbor is back home.  All was well.
Monday, February 15, 2010 AM - I gave Pud the news that you were coming home tonight - he was thrilled.  I wanted to let you know that he still seems to be drinking lots of water.  I'm sure it's just because he's eating something that's making him thirsty - but the first few days I came he hardly drank any of his water and now it's weird to see that the bowl is dry when I come in.  I am making sure that it is nice and full of water on my visits.  Pud had a yummy breakfast and lots of head pats - then off to see the neighbor - LOL!  I know he will be so excited to see you!  I hope you have a wonderful trip home!  I was going to put your garbage out but when I was in giving Pud his breakfast I heard them coming -0 but they are REALLY quick!  When I ran out to get the garbage the truck was whizzing by at the speed of light - LOL - so I missed them.  I'm sorry, I wanted everything to nice when you got home!!  But it wasn't too full so maybe it won't be so bad.  All else was well.
PM - Pud is all ready to see you!  I told him it would be really late tonight, but I think he is going to be so excited that he stays up for the celebration!  I left the porch light on in the back, in case you come in through that door.  I hope you had a terrific time!  Pud did great - he is getting on in age and really loves sunning alot, but he is such a great character and we love spending time with him.  I hope the old dude has lots of years left.  Please call or email if you need us again!  We enjoyed all our times with Pud!
